The Non-Profit Fundraising Arm of Mixology Clothing Company
The Birth of Fashion First Responders
Ever since the beginning of Mixology Clothing Company, we’ve considered ourselves a part of the community—because we are. Our employees live there too, after all. So when a tragedy strikes, we consider it a “no-brainer” to help the affected families.
Over the years, we would have customers or their friends reach out to let us know that their house had burned down and they had lost everything: family pictures, heirlooms, clothes. They were understandably devastated.
We couldn’t bring their pictures and heirlooms back, but we could help them with their clothes. The team would take the family to one of our warehouses and load them up with a new wardrobe so they could have one less worry on their mind while they tried to get back on their feet.
People would comment to CEO Jordan Edwards how much they appreciated Mixology team members being some of the first people to reach out to help, whether it was a house fire, unexpected accident, hurricane, or pandemic. A light bulb went off, and Fashion First Responders was born.
Who We Are
Fashion First Responders is the start of Mixology Clothing Company’s non-profit arm. Our goal is to support our community through disaster and charity events hosted at Mixology stores across the tri-state area. We want to be very clear: this is not about profit. This is our team—all parents, siblings, friends, and family ourselves—supporting our communities—the people who have always supported us.
Giving back to our communities has always been a core part of who we are, but we knew it was time to take it to the next level. Creating Fashion First Responders enables the Mixology team to help more people in more ways. (And hopefully, we can inspire other fashion companies to get involved, too!)
